16 YEAR OLD PERMITS

1.)  Pass a vision test
2.)  Pass a written test
3.)  Complete a six (6) hour behind-the-wheel course

All public and some private schools offer the classroom portion of Drivers Education.  Once
the test is passed, students are given a high school waiver card.

- if the student failed or did not take the written test at school, arrangements are made to
take the test at DMV.  Contact us to discuss each individual situation.

Once the requirements as stated above are met, you will receive your permit.

Period of Practice Driving

You must practice driving with a New Jersey licensed driver that is at least
21 years old and has had their license for three years or more, for a
minimum of six (6) months.
